Abstract

This paper presents the concept of an engine simulator as a design tool which accounts for the through-life service conditions of a vessel. Rather than a specific design point, a simulator allows the designer to play out scenarios with different design points, and establish the one which results, throughout the vessel’s lifetime, with the most preferable parameters.
