Notes: The main focus of this paper is to describe a research methodology which brings together conversation analysis (CA) and corpus linguistics (CL) to analyze classroom interaction. As far as we are aware, this is the first time that this approach has been used. The study analyzes data from an LSP (Language for Specific Purposes) context and demonstrates how a more qualitative approach (CA) can be usefully combined with a more quantitative methodology (CL).
