Crystals of the title compd. are monoclinic, space group C2/c, with a 13.0230(4), b 8.9470(3), c 12.4350(3).ANG., beta 106.967(2) Deg; Z = 4, dc = 1.652; R = 0.028, Rw(F2) = 0.067 for 1580 reflections. There is a distorted tetrahedral geometry around the Zn center which occupies a 2-fold axis. Both intra- and intermol. H bonding is obsd. between the 1,3-dimethylthiourea NH groups and the coordinated Cl atoms. [on SciFinder (R)]
