Abstract

This article examines the seemingly contradictory stance of Peter Singer’s meta-ethics with his redefinition of equality along the lines of all beings with interests are equal. This apparent contradiction is resolved through the postulation that Singer must, in part, hold a position similar to Hegelian idealism, but that raises a further problem concerning his specific work on animal rights.
