Abstract

This reposrt consists of an annotated and indexed bibliography ogf 375 items relating to the origins of digital computers. It covers the period from the earliest mechanical aids to digital calculation until the first practical stored program electronic computer was put into operation in 1949. The bibliography has been prepared for the book, 'The origins of Digital Computers: Selected Papers', which is to be published by Springer Verlag.
