True concurrency semantics assume that behavioural properities of non-sequential systems can be adequately modelled in terms of casual partial orders. We claim that the structure of concurrency is richer, with casuality being only one of several invariants that could be used to faith fully characterise concurrent behaviours. The model we are going to investigate has three levels: the Observation level - dealing with single runs or executions; the Invariant level - dealing with invariant relations reflecting the structural properties of the concurrent system; and the System level. Here the presentation is focused on the Observation and Invariant levels and their mutual relationship.
