Floating Production Storage Offloading (FPSO) vessels operate in both a fully loaded condition and a partially loaded condition in which sloshing will take place due to the wave induced motions of the vessels. The sloshing not only induces local impact loads on tank top and walls but also global inertia and hydrodynamic loads on hull girder. The present study investigates the effects of sloshing on the global wave loads of a FPSO vessel in the central North Sea. The short-term and long-term design extreme wave loads with and without the sloshing effects in a 100 year return period are compared and discussed.
