Abstract

house-birmingham (Film) is a video installation and a short film based on a time-lapse film recording of house-birmingham (Centenary Square, 10 - 21 May 2004, IKON Gallery Birmingham) During the twelve days of the event a camera was slowly moving around the sculpture taking one frame every two minutes. The resulting time-lapse movie is looped permanently in the video installation and twice in the short film version. The short film includes a soundtrack by Dr. Matthew Sansom, University of Surrey. The video installation was shown at IKON Gallery 5 - 13 March 2005 (solo show) and at You Shall Know Our Velocity, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Arts, Gateshead 21 January – 26 March 2006 (group show) The short film was screened at following international festivals: Tampere International Film Festival 2006, Tampere Finland Athens Video Art Festival 2006, Athens Interfilm 2005, Berlin Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin 2005, Paris Impakt Festival 2005, Utrecht
