This paper presents a study on the performance of a 100kW up-draft fixed bed gasifier. The primary objective was to analyse the produce gas initially at different air flow rates and to process similar to 20 kg/h of forestry waste. The secondary objective was to optimise the gasifier, using a mass balance technique to provide a good operating condition to generate clean and high quality produce gas. The gas obtained consisted of O-2, N-2, CH4, H-2, CO, CnHm, and CO2 and a negligible amount of solid residue with a negligible amount of carbon content was also observed.
