"Heilige Röcke" are dresses made by nuns for wooden sculpture in the church. The group of vestments for the Cistercian convent of Wienhausen presented in the volume is exceptional in its use of parchment as backing for the cloth; the fragments are analysed as document of convent culture and discussed in their textual significance.
