“Acting for monuments” was the theme of the third public dialogue meeting of the programme "Local Communities & Monuments". It was conducted in the village of Filoti on the 21st of August 2009. Broadening the thematic circle and following the previous meetings on the history of archaeology and the monuments on the island (2007, “Local Communities & Monuments of Naxos”) and the problems that the latter currently face (2008, “Monuments of Naxos at risk; the citizen’s voice”, Gratsia & Lekakis 2010), we looked for practical methods for the protection of the natural and architectural wealth.
