Hybrid Cyclometalated Iridium Coumarin Complex as a Sensitiser of Both n- and p-Type DSSCs

The preparation and characterisation of a hybrid biscyclometalated coumarin/iridium complex is presented which exhibits intense visible absorption (epsilon approximate to 43800 dm(3)mol(-1)cm(-1)) and sensitises both n- and p-type dye-sensitised solar cells (DSSCs).
