Over the decades, growing attention on Smart Grid and its associated technologies can be seen. The aim of this project was to create a Centre of Excellence facility for experimental integration and showcasing of projects undertaken by Newcastle University International Singapore (NUIS) students. As the first step, a fabricated table -top demonstration unit called Sy nergizeOne was designed, developed and implemented. This project attempts to discuss past works related to smart grid by various institutions, self -research and development, design and fabrication of unit getting feedback from targeted users. With better understanding on the capabilities and usage of Smart Meters and how Smart Homes can directly save electrical consumption, young Electrical Engineer can provide sound solutions to better reduce carbon footprint in future. This was previously not made possible due to limitation in product's availability for an experimental set.
