Abstract

Through this film - and the filmmaking process - we sought to understand and communicate the Undercroft community's individual and collective attachments to the space, and the strategies LLSB used to translate and communicate these heritage claims. In working with three generations of Southbank skaters we hope to have produced a film that remains true to the aesthetics and ethics of the Undercroft community. It was produced by Dr Pollyanna Ruiz from the University of Sussex, alongside Dr Tim Snelson from UEA, Dr Rebecca Madgin from Glasgow University and Dr David Webb from Newcastle University, in collaboration with the Brazen Bunch. It was directed by Paul Richards and skater turned filmmaker Winstan Whitter.
