Abstract

In this paper, an edge-fed quarter-wave matched circularly polarized microstrip antenna with a circular truncated patch and 2-by-1 T-junction planar array configuration are studied using finite element method (FEM) based simulator. The aim of the work is to investigate the microstrip antennas feasibility in capturing energy from ambient EM radiation and converting it into direct electric power. The results obtained demonstrate an acceptable agreement between the simulated and measured results. © 2013 IEEE.
