© 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, London. Recently, the feasibility of detecting crack in metal by Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) Tag Antenna-Based Sensor (TABS) is widely studied in open literatures; however, little concern is paid on the crack determination. This paper presents a possibility study for the characterization of crack in metal using RFID TABS. The major purpose of our work is to bridge the gap between Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and Non-Destructive Testing & Evaluation (NDT&E), aiming to promote the widespread adoption of RFID technology.
