Abstract

© 2016 IEEE. A new low cost technology for sensing in oceans is described. The technology is based on readily available commercial electronic devices and uses an Internet of Things approach. It is optimized for ocean measurements of medium spatial frequency close to shore and can include sensors for important parameters such as ocean temperature, conductivity, optical transmissions and waver dynamics.
