Abstract

A composition using the sounds of Ayako Tani's glass chandelier and Northumbrian birdsong recordings by Geoff Sample. The music is part of an installation at Cheeseburn Grange of Ayako Tani's work, a glass artist resident at the National Glass Centre, Sunderland. The installation is a part of the exhibition "Singing the World", curated by and including the work of Prof Mike Collier, Sunderland University. The work can be played in parallel with the piano music ". . . singing every minute high up in the golden-green blossom . . ." and is scheduled for publication on an audio CD to be released with an artists book based on the exhibition, funded by Arts Council England.
