In this work we propose a structure based on 3D dielectric cuboids excited by surface plasmons to produce photonic nanojets (PNJ). It is shown that the position of the focus can be freely engineered by simply changing the height of the cuboid on top of a metal film. This performance is studied both numerically and analytically, by using the effective refractive index approach of multilayered structures. The structure is evaluated at the wavelength of 1300 nm demonstrating that the best results, in terms of the resolution of the focus and power enhancement are obtained when the height of the dielectric is 160 nm, with values of 0.4 wavelength and 9dB, respectively.
