On the afternoon of 10 April 2013, both houses of Parliament met to mark the death of a Member. It was a long-established convention for MPs and Peers to recognise the passing of a Prime Minister, but the scale and substance of the proceedings as regards Margaret Thatcher were, like so much else about her, extraordinary. They may be seen to stand as a testament to Thatcherism in the twenty-first century.
