Open Access padlockePrints

The Newcastle University research output collection, currently available on ePrints, will shortly be moving to a new open repository platform, Figshare. To prepare for the data migration we have paused adding new content to ePrints, and will resume once the new repository is launched. During this time you will continue to have access to ePrints (but no new content will appear). We will share updates here when available.

Abstract

The city of Newcastle has evolved spatially, economically and legislatively to accommodate the playground of consumption and intoxication affiliated with its infamous nightlife. Newcastle After Dark explores the architecture of the city after dark; a dense fabric of interior spaces catering for excitement and excess alongside the urban spaces connecting them. This event exhibits a condensed part of our research, exploring various themes affilliated with the night time city through photography, film and sound. Newcastle After Dark is a collaborative research project as part of a ‘Linked Research’ between academic staff and students of the Masters of Architecture at Newcastle University.
