Lawrence Zazzo stars as Oberon, King of the Fairies, in this defining countertenor opera role in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. In a new production by Anglo-French director Irina Brook, this is Dr. Zazzo's debut at the Vienna Staatsoper and the first production of this opera for the Vienna State Opera since 1962, and the first to actually feature a countertenor as Oberon as Britten originally intended.
