The Newcastle University research output collection, currently available on ePrints, will shortly be moving to a new open repository platform, Figshare. To prepare for the data migration we have paused adding new content to ePrints, and will resume once the new repository is launched. During this time you will continue to have access to ePrints (but no new content will appear). We will share updates here when available.

Abstract

This work presents public transport route choice models for morning peak data from Santiago’s 2012 Origin-Destination Survey. On this data, the public transport tactical-strategic planning tool STEP (Raveau et al., 2017) is used to generate a choice set of alternative routes for each observation, as well as main attributes for each of them. With this information different discrete choice models are estimated. Results allow to understand the travellers’ behaviour and estimate the impact of transport policies.
