A well-designed build up environment should include thermally comfortable outdoor spaces as well as low energy and thermally comfortable buildings, this paper aims to evaluate a coupling method between ENVI-met 4 as a microclimate model and IESVE as a Building Energy Modelling (BEM) software. The ENVI-met calculation for the outdoor microclimate conditions is used to specify the thermal boundary conditions for the building simulation modelling to give a realistic building energy consumption profile. The results revealed that the energy simulation using the generated ‘urban specific weather datasets' (USWDs) performed better than the one using the weather file obtained from the international weather station with only 6% deviation against 15% compared to the actual electricity consumption
