Abstract

This project addresses a problem relating to the UN SDGs for affordable clean energy (#7) and promote sustainable industrialization (#9). We (IIT, NU) have developed a TriboElectric NanoGenerator (TENG, a clean energy harvesting device made from recycled plastics) that has potential application for the mass market (see 10.1016/j.cej.2020.127409). In anticipation of increased uptake of recycled plastics, to ensure that there is an adequate recycling infrastructure, we are developing a framework of the closed-loop value chain for the recycling management of plastic waste.
