Abstract

This article contextualises the book All Possible Steps. Safeguarding Cultural Property Protection in the 1954 Hague Convention. In doing so, it reviews the question of whether the 1954 Hague Convention is fit for purpose today, looking at historic and contemporary challenges to its application and arguing that failure rests with gestural implementation by States Parties.
