Abstract

In March 2020 our institution along with many institutions across the globe moved to the online space as a means of delivering our teaching and communicating with our students. As we spent many hours in our homes in front of computer screens talking to black tiles, we no longer had the opportunities to 'hang out' in scholarly spaces with our students. Fast forward to September 2022, and our institution made the move back to fully in person. However, attendance and engagement from our students has not recovered to our pre-covid rates. In this presentation, I draw on the findings from a variety of projects that relate to our large UG Business Management programme. I explore the challenges we have faced and I will focus on how we might build serendipitous opportunities for scholarly exchanges both into the curriculum and into our shared spaces. I look forward to meeting you all at the event and hearing all about the work being done in other institutions.
