Abstract

Liquid fluidization of particulate solids is a very old technology for processing solids, predating the now commonly applied gas–solid fluidization. In microscales, the concepts and the subsequent research of liquid–solid and gas–solid micro-fluidized beds started almost simultaneously. All preceding chapters of this book dealt with gas–solid micro-fluidization. This chapter concentrates on the fundamentals and applications of liquid–solid micro-fluidized beds.
