Abstract

To address (1) the contribution to the Faculty budget, (2) the decline in revenue and (3) generating sustainable income, it is crucial for NUIS to explore alternative avenues beyond traditional approaches. These opportunities are fees from postgraduate candidates, preferably through programs like EDB-IPP or company-funded initiatives, i.e. encouraging companies to fund their staff members for MPhil or PhD programs with NU, welcoming more self-funded postgraduate candidates from the industry engagement exercise. Pursuing research and innovation collaborations with industry partners should address real income generation, which could come from charging consultancy fees and engaging in projects where staff time and other operational costs can be covered
