This chapter explores the dystopian graphic novel Hoy es un buen día para morir (2016) by Jesús Colomina Orgaz (Colo) as an example of the genre’s recent revival in comics (but also in literature), which has proved effective in the creation of alternative imaginaries combining the critical apparatus articulated by the 15M movement. Using multimodality as a methodology for the analysis, the chapter argues that the comic unfolds into two interconnected technical media of display, graphic narrative and a musical album, demonstrating that resistance to the neoliberal rationality lies in communal fraternal ties.
