Abstract

This new poem tells the (probably) apocryphal story of Pa Wilder stopping at the home of the 'Bloody Benders' - America's first family of serial killers - to water his horses. Laura Ingalls Wilder was asked to remove this story from her books as it was considered too traumatic for her readership.Poetry Ireland editor Nessa O’Mahoney talks with Sinéad Morrissey.
