Artistically informed research on Sweden's fossil-free transition. The exhibition has taken shape in collaboration with people living and working in three Swedish industrial towns – Lysekil, Luleå, and Slite. In the exhibition space, you hear sounds from the towns' industries and natural environments. The sounds illustrate how industries have become part of the ecology of these places.For some, envisioning the future is like navigating through fog. Unclear prospects for the future evoke feelings of uncertainty, anxiety, and confusion. But fog can also help sharpen our senses and chart new directions. In the midst of uncertainty, new opportunities arise.Industrial towns are not homogeneous places. They encompass a diversity of experiences and stories. The exhibition reflects this diversity and tells how it feels to live in a time of transition.Artistically informed research aims to engage people's emotions, senses, knowledge, and imaginations. It is a research tradition that can open up new ways to approach Sweden's fossil-free transition. Not everyone has the same opportunities to participate in the decisions that shape our collective future. Therefore, we need to be receptive and actively listen for more voices and stories.
