This response follows up on work on the consequences of the extensive cuts to provision for disadvantaged children and young people imposed through the budgets for Northern Ireland enacted by Westminster during the period of the collapse of power-sharing between 2022 and 2024. The restoration of power sharing in February 2024 and the conclusion of a draft Programme for Government in September 2024 provided significant opportunities to rectify the damage done between 2022 and 2024. This opportunity has been missed.
