Abstract

This exhibition forms part of the long-term project This Was All Fields, led by artist Julia Heslop. Through painting, sound, video and a publication, this work seeks to record the ecology and landscape characteristics of the fields surrounding Murton Village, North Tyneside, exploring what will be lost when 2,700 new houses are built on these fields. Over ten years the wider project aims to track the changing landscape through creative practice, and evidence the social and environmental impacts of large-scale housing development in the area. This exhibition features work by Julia Heslop, sound artist Martin Heslop and Sam Fisher.
