The Franz diffusion cell (FDC) is a standard laboratory apparatus used for measuring drug absorption across the skin. It is usually operated manually. These files pertain to the development of Otto, an aftermarket FDC autosampler designed to be retrofitted to generic FDCs, to automate them. The files include computer-aided design (CAD) files for 3D-printable parts in FCSTD format, ready-to-slice 3MF and STL files for 3D printing, and videos showing Otto in operation. Also included is OttoMate, a browser-based companion app used to programme Otto. 3D models (.fcstd) were created in FreeCAD [https://freecad.org] and exported to .3mf or .stl for slicing. The font used in the front cover of the dispenser assembly is Nuixyber Pro Original Regular, available at https://www.1001fonts.com/nuixyber-pro-original-font.html PTFE-clip-R4-75scaled.stl is a 75% scaled model of PTFE-clip-R4.stl, available at https://www.printables.com/model/531604-mmu3-printable-parts/files.
