Abstract

© 2026Abstraction-based control of interconnected switched systems (ISSs) for temporal logic tasks faces the curse of dimensionality. Compositional methods address this by constructing ISS abstractions from those of component switched systems (CSSs), but existing frameworks rely on a restrictive requirement: all modes of each CSS should be incrementally passive (δ-P). This condition is often violated in practical systems. To bridge this gap, this paper develops a novel compositional abstraction method that removes the δ-P constraint. Specifically, we introduce δ-P-like storage functions to accommodate incrementally non-passive modes and integrate them with mode-dependent dwell-time (MD-DT) constraints to construct storage functions (SFs) from the component abstraction to CSS. For linear modes, more general δ-P-like storage functions with time-varying positive-definite matrices are adopted, enabling an LMI formulation of SFs. Building on these SFs, we then establish existence conditions for an alternating simulation function (ASF) from the whole abstraction to the ISS. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through simulations.
