Abstract

This infographic presents the findings of a scoping review examining patient, public and community involvement and engagement (PPCIE) in horizon scanning. The review identified 21 international examples of PPCIE in horizon-scanning activities and explored how contributors influenced stages of the horizon scanning lifecycle. The work also examined facilitators and barriers to involvement, concluding that while PPCIE is feasible and often valued, it is not the norm in horizon scanning practice and is rarely embedded throughout the entire horizon-scanning process.
