Notes: This is a substantial article published in a leading journal of European law, one which, for obvious reasons, attracts a necessarily internaional audience. It places the legal and political implications of the Turkish accession to the EU in a broader cultural and ethical context. There is, as yet, no comparable piece to be found elsewhere, and so it should represent a major reference point.
