Abstract

This essay reviews the life and work of Andre Gunder Frank, with an emphsis on his analyese of world economic development and world history. It marks his passing away on 23 April 2005. Another version of this essay appeared as an obituary in The Guardian newspaper, UK, and is stored in the archive. The essay was reprinted in the journal Peace and Policy in 2006. It was also widely distributed through email lists via the editorial board of Globalizations.
