Abstract

Standard orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has been adopted as the modulation standard for terrestrial digital video broadcasting (DVB-T) due to its ability to mitigate multipath reflections while making efficient use of the available spectrum. A successful channel estimator is important in order to improve the performance of OFDM systems. In this paper we develop a recursive least square channel estimator inserted in the DVB-T system, using the inserted pilot symbols in the data sequence. It can significantly improve the performance of OFDM systems over a slowly time varying channel. (7 References).
