Nanoindentation characterization of coated systems: P:S2 - a new approach using the continuous stiffness technique

Abstract

The mechanical properties of coated systems were studied using the continuous stiffness technique. The effect of the small superposed applied current signal on the load-displacement response of the samples was examined. The resultant indentation appearances and deformation structures of the samples were characterized using transmission electron microscopy and high resolution scanning electron microscopy.
