Abstract

Base Station antenna arrays are a promising method for providing significant capacity increases for third generation cellular mobile radio systems. This paper presents a Space-Time receiver structure and evaluates a range of Direction-of-arrival (DOA) algorithms, to assess the potential capacity gains from employment of multiple receiver antennas for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA).
