Abstract

The microwave-heated reaction between PhCCH and [6,6,6-(PPh3)2H-nido-6-IrB9H13] gives [2-(η6-C6H3Ph3)-closo-2-IrB 9H6-10-(PPh3)] (29%) and thereby demonstrates acetylene trimerisation on a metallaborane matrix.
