Two potential pyridine-borane oligomer and polymer building blocks

Abstract

Two five-unit linear compounds, [NC5H4.C5H4N.B10H 12.NC5H4.C5H4N] and [Me2S.B10H12.NC4H 4N.B10H12.SMe2], have been isolated from the reactions of [6,9-(SMe2)2-arachno-B10H12] with 4,4′-bipyridyl and pyrazine (1,4-diazabenzene), respectively, and are characterised by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
