Abstract

The use of expert systems and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques for increasing the productivity of bioprocesses was investigated. The bioprocess supervision was achieved by employing knowledge acquisition schemes with respect to the fault detection and advisory systems. The methods of implementation of these systems was simple and proper coding was required. Pattern recognition techniques were further used to solve the cognitive overload problems.
