Small aggregates of interstitials and models for platelets in diamond

Abstract

Models for the planar defects, called platelets, were developed by examining the structure of small clusters of self-interstitials in diamond using local density-functional techniques. Their structures, energies and vibrational properties were analyzed. A local-density-functional approach is used to simulate these defects.
