Classical dynamics of impulsively driven collisional energy transfer

Abstract

The problem of collisional energy transfer between the atoms or molecules arranged in connecting layers on a solid surface in response to impulsive photon impact was considered. The collision dynamics was studied through analysis of particle trajectories. Kinetic energy distributions for photodesorption of benzene molecules from platinum surfaces on photoexcitation by a laser beam were calculated from the results.
