Abstract

A report on Eighth European Ceramic Society symposium held in Istambul from 28 June-3 July, 2003 is presented. More than 700 participants from the 25 European members of ECerS, the USA, Japan, Korea, Australia and many other international locations took part in nine parallel sessions of scientific activity spanning four days. As part of the conference programme there were the usual student competitions, one for the best student poster, and the other for the best oral presentation.
