Abstract

The four commercially available bone cements which have different particle size characteristics and molecular weight distributions were discussed. Reduced molecular weight was observed in the matrix of SmartSet GHV and Palacose R-40 bone cements. SmartSet GHV, Palacos R-40 and CMW1 have a similar narrow particle size distribution and Simplex P has a broad particle distribution.
