Abstract

The effects of changes in TiO2, dispersed in 2-propanol, on its measured photocatalytic activity were analyzed. The TiO2 particle dispersion was deliberately modified by milling the suspension to break down the clusters of individual crystals. It was found that the milling decreased the size of the TiO2 particles which led to corresponding changes in the optical properties of their dispersions. The results suggest that the photooxidation measurements are sensitive to the state of dispersion of the TiO2.
